San Pablo Ave.

The San Francisco Chronicle just published a short list of fun shops and cafes–mostly small local businesses– on San Pablo Ave. near Dwight Way. While this is arguably the most happening stretch of San Pablo Ave. at present, there are many interesting spots along its length. One I stumbled across recently was the Transmissions Gallery, at 1177 San Pablo, a block or so north of Gilman. The storefront is occupied by the gallery, with an architectural office located behind. Their next opening is Thursday Sept. 7, 5-9pm. Stop in!

West Berkeley International Food Fest

This Sunday from noon to 5pm, come taste food from all over the world.  The festival will take place at the intersection of San Pablo and University.  Click here to read more about it in today’s Daily Planet.

West Berkeley’s newest restaurant opened yesterday

What was formerlyTravlin Joe’s/ Home Cafe, is now 900 Grayson. While I’ve been missing Joe’s homemade chai, 900 Grayson looks like a replacement with possibilities. Along with lattes and espresso, they serve breakfast and lunch. They plan to start serving dinner in May. Click here for a Map.
Hours: 7am-3pm M-F, 9am-3pm Sat-Sun starting April 29

*I haven’t been yet, but if someone has and they’d like to submit a review, please do.

T. Rex is finally here!

It seemed like the empty storefront on 10th and Gilman would never open….but on Friday Nov. 4 it finally did. If you’re in the mood for some bbq, stop in for lunch or dinner.
