It seemed like the empty storefront on 10th and Gilman would never open….but on Friday Nov. 4 it finally did. If you’re in the mood for some bbq, stop in for lunch or dinner.

Just took the family there for dinner, and I have to say that it was only so-so. Good BBQ must be slow cooked for a very long time, otherwise the meat is tough and the fat is chewy. Properly done the meat should fall off the bone and any fat should be melt-in-your-mouth. To a dish, T.Rex’s meat was under cooked. Not the under cooked that needs to be sent back for a couple of minutes on the grill, but under cooked in the needs to be smoked for a few more hours. The sides were very good though.

We’ve been to TRex twice and loved it. Everything we had was perfect and the service was first rate
I loved it…the bbq sauce is amazing, but my favorite thing was the Texas toast. I have a craving for some of that buttery crunchy goodness right now.
And they’re open until 2am!!
