At last, some movement by Pacific Steel

Per today’s Daily Planet, Pacific Steel will have a brand new carbon filter in operation by September 2006. This should mitigate the foul odor (but not the chemicals) coming from plant #3.

[…] Here’s where my liberal tendencies fray and my libertarian self pokes his head out and says, “WTF?” There is so much out there that is bad for you. Car exhaust, for example. Maybe instead of sending agents to snoop outside of buildings to learn how to protect innocent pedestrians from the evil smokers lurking outside of buildings they should shove thier noses in Pacific Steel’s pipe and see how they feel about it. Keep in mind that these filtration systems are already in
place for PLant #2, which is the plant that generates the
most stink and receives the most NOVs from the Bay Area Air
Quality Management District (BAAQMD). So don’t count on any
great improvements ESPECIALLY since BAAQMD has now
permitted PSC to INCREASE (yes, you read that right) their
emissions levels significantly above their 2005 levels, which were
already unacceptable. This is an outrage! I think we
should storm the plant like they stormed the Bastille!
