Sept. 13 2005: Neighborhood Robbery on San Pablo.
Sept. 9 2005: This is something that happened on Wednesday Sept. 7 in the afternoon:
“Don’t know if this is of interest to you, but thought that I would try
and let our neighbors know that yesterday afternoon when we left to
walk the dog, someone broke into our house (walked around back and came in
through a window) and then stole our lap tops, our cell phones and our
car (parked in front of the house).
We live on 6th street (in b/w jones and page) and are fairly certain
that they had cased the place in advance and watched us all leave
together for a short dog walk.”
Keep your eyes peeled, and if you notice anything or anyone suspicious, take note.
I’ve made this blog my homepage. This is a great service. Are you interested in talking about a neighborhood wifi network? I have an network set up called bluehouseonthecorner operating out of my blue house on the corner of 5th and jones.
It is encrypted but I called it bluehouse so anyone who wants to use it could knock on my door and ask for the password. We could put boosters around the neighborhood and broadcast it.
Do you plan to remain anonymous?
Hi Bluehouse,
Thanks for your interest in the site.
Communal wi-fi networks are becoming more common and I think it could be a good idea. I myself don’t know much about the details, and/or cost implications. How much do boosters cost? How are they powered? and what is their range?
It might help if you compose something to officially post to the cameliastreet site. Maybe explain the reasons for setting something like this up, who would benefit, what we would need to invest in, security issues and risks, etc. We’d post it and then see what kind of feedback we get.
What do you think?
bluehouse,
One other thing-
you can leave comments or you can send an email to cameliastreet@yahoo.com. either is fine.

I’m very sad to hear this, as I live on the same block. I’m not sure what else to say at this point.
Sorry to hear about your break-in. I live on the corner of Camelia and 6th in the purple house.
Regarding a communal wi-fi, I think it sounds like a fun plan. Let me know how I can help: eric AT echidnamedia DOT com
